Artificial intelligence can identify not only winning moves in chess, but also interesting moves, making AI more enjoyable to watch and play against, and maybe even providing insights into our appreciation of the game.
AI has long been able to beat even the most skilled human players at chess – IBM’s Deep Blue famously beat world champion Garry Kasparov nearly 30 years ago – but AI tends to analyse the game and make the moves most likely to win.
