Oak trees are more than just trees – for centuries they have been seen as symbols of fertility and resilience. In the UK, oak trees provide food and shelter for over 2,300 species, 326 of which depend on them to survive.
Oak trees can live for over a thousand years, but 600 years is more common, achieving “ancient” status at 400 years.
