It’s not always easy to absorb important amino acids from vegan foods

Most vegans eat plenty of protein, but new research shows that many are lacking in essential amino acids such as lysine and leucine. This finding suggests that we may need to be more careful about not only the amount vegans consume, but also the types of protein in our diet.
Patricia Thor At the Riddet Institute in Palmerston North, New Zealand, her colleagues analyzed the diets of 193 adults living in New Zealand who were vegan at least two years before the study.
