Porn performer Fox is among the creators using gaming and other non-explicit content to reach audiences beyond adult entertainment. Pornhub says interest in safe-for-work videos, including gaming, podcasts and cooking, rose sharply in 2025, and the platform is investing in these categories as age-verification laws and other restrictions reshape access to sexually explicit material.
From cosplay to gaming
Fox is known for cosplaying a variety of gaming characters, including a sex-starved vault dweller from Fallout and Lara Croft in “Dick Ryder.” Pornhub, one of the platforms where she uploads content, hosts a large number of her character videos; one of her most popular videos received 12 million views.
Fox is also a Minecraft player. In September, she posted a video of herself playing the game while dressed in character. Within less than a month, the video had received more than 1 million views on the site.
This is the type of content Pornhub is betting on as part of its future. Starting this month, the adult-entertainment site is encouraging performers to reach new audiences through gaming, cooking, podcasting and other activities that are not directly related to sex.
Viewers can find out about Zara Dahl’s “physics-based neural networks” or learn what Jenna Starr likes to make for dinner—steak and potatoes, according to the source. Pornhub’s data indicates that interest in safe-for-work content is growing rapidly. The platform’s podcast and gaming categories experienced a triple-digit rise in 2025, with podcasts alone increasing by 327%. Searches for “SFW” also rose by 114%.
Expanding creators’ reach
Alex Kekeshi, Pornhub’s vice president of brand and community, said these categories are gaining traction because viewers want to know performers beyond their adult roles. Kekeshi said the non-explicit content is intended to complement, rather than replace, creators’ existing adult video libraries.
The content will appear on video pages, in search results and recommendations, and across various categories on Pornhub. It will also be included in Shorties, a scrollable vertical-video feed.
By increasing its investment in safe-for-work content, Pornhub also hopes to give creators more opportunities to grow their audiences and improve their visibility in regions where the platform has restricted access to sexually explicit material because of local age-verification laws.
Age verification and industry pressure
As regulation and censorship increase across the industry, adult creators are being pushed to find new ways to protect their livelihoods. In the United States, 27 states and a growing number of companies are adopting online age checks that require users to upload identification or another personal document before viewing sexually explicit content.
Sixteen states, nearly all with Republican majorities, have adopted resolutions declaring pornography a public-health crisis. Some, including Alabama, have also passed “porn tax” legislation affecting adult sites operating in their jurisdictions. Free-speech advocates say age-verification laws, which have also been enacted in the UK, make the internet less safe.
Creators seek more stable income
Isla Moon, who earned a PhD in neuroscience in 2021 while working full-time as an adult performer, says she has been banned from more than 250 TikTok accounts. The industry’s volatility has led her to take safe-for-work content seriously, and she says she is continually looking for creative ways to make her income “more stable.”
