Aloe vera plants could be turned into living supercapacitors

Aloe vera can be used to make supercapacitors. Supercapacitors are energy storage devices that are similar to batteries but discharge power faster. Supercapacitors can also be placed inside living plants and used to power lighting or charge low-power devices.
Yang Zhao Researchers at Beijing Institute of Technology in China have constructed a supercapacitor almost entirely from various parts of the aloe vera plant, using no additional materials other than a single gold wire.
