In 1540, coins of Henry VIII were made at the Tower of London. One of his masters of the mint was Ralph his knurling, a goldsmith from St. Albans who had six children. I wondered if I was a descendant of Ralph. My Rowlett ancestors were steelworkers in Sheffield, since my 3-time great-grandfather migrated north in search of work. There is no evidence of a direct link to the 18th century Bedfordshire farm laborer line, and its traces have faded.
