In November 2019, the U.S. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine announced that Workshop to discuss emerging disease threats. It is not a new coronavirus infection. It was a few months too early for that. Instead, they were trying to figure out what to do with microbes trapped in glaciers, ice sheets, and permafrost. These microbes will be released as the world warms and the ice melts.
