Elon Musk has postponed his planned visit to India, including a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, citing “very heavy obligations” at Tesla.
According to Reuters, Tesla’s CEO was set to visit on April 21 and 22 to announce an investment of $2-3 billion in India for new projects, particularly focused on factory construction.
In a recent post, Musk stated, “Unfortunately, due to very heavy obligations at Tesla, we have to postpone our visit to India, but we very much look forward to visiting India later this year.”
Musk’s visit to New Delhi was also expected to involve meetings with space industry startup executives to discuss plans to offer Starlink satellite broadband services in India.
On April 10, Musk expressed excitement about meeting Prime Minister Modi in India.
