As the sun rose in the Northern Hemisphere on Saturday, the moon crossed Earth’s orbit and bitten from the sun.
The partial solar eclipse that occurs when the moon travels between the Earth and the Sun and casts shadows on our planet was the first of the year and was seen in parts of the United States, Canada, the Caribbean, Europe, Russia and parts of Africa.
Unlike the total solar eclipse of the sun, when the entire sun is covered, a partial solar eclipse of the sun produces a crescent moon.
The event had already begun when dawn broke in the northeastern United States, which had the best views in the country. People from Northern and Western Europe, as well as those on the northwest coast of Africa, were treated to heavenly shows in the early mornings and afternoons.
If you missed it, the next partial solar eclipse will be in September and the best views will take place in Australia.
