Equipped with a swimming cap and an electric propulsion system, the cyborg jellyfish can swim four times faster than normal and could be used for deep-sea exploration.
John Dabiri Professors at the California Institute of Technology previously showed that live jellyfish equipped with electronics that stimulate neurons can swim nearly three times faster than unenhanced jellyfish in a laboratory setting.
