Approximately 200 molecules changed into a quantum state of matter
Columbia University Will Institute
Quantum states of matter were first created using “dipole” molecules, molecules with one positively charged end and one negatively charged end. It could help improve our understanding of the quantum properties of exotic materials.
Historically, researchers have sometimes examined the atomic structure of materials to understand their inner workings. However, the complexity of these structures can make it difficult to understand how the atoms interact and how the material behaves as a whole.
