Belgium recorded unprecedented temperatures in 2024

The past few years have witnessed alarmingly high temperature records. However, the extreme heat observed globally in 2023 and 2024 may not necessarily signal a crisis, but instead reflect natural variability, according to some climate scientists.
“From a modeling standpoint, yes, that’s the variability we expect,” stated Karsten Hautin during a talk at the European Geoscience Union conference in Vienna, which took place last week at the University of Leipzig, Germany.
