A multitude of dolphins have been observed producing distinctive whistles that seem to convey various inquiries or alerts, suggesting a shared understanding. Certain researchers contend that this communal use of sounds serves as compelling evidence that these intelligent sea creatures possess a form of language-like communication.
While dolphins generate numerous “information-seeking” blow sounds and are aware of how altering the whistle’s volume can add extra details, researchers have generally refrained from asserting that non-human animals have a true language system until now.
