I installed an Android-based headunit in a friend’s Lexus IS, but the hardware running it was extremely slow and its native support for Google and Apple phones was a crappy “mirroring” mode. This made a huge difference. CarPlay and Android Auto are both supported natively and both are much more responsive because the display doesn’t rely as heavily on the slow hardware in the radio itself. Very happy with this one.
