A newly discovered fossil flower in amber has revealed the moment when its five petals emerged, dating back more than 33.9 million years. This specimen, approximately 28 millimeters in diameter, is the largest amber-encased flower ever discovered. Discovered in 1872, it was described in detail by two scientists in January 2023, over 150 years later.
