About a dozen landers aim to land on the moon next year, with the goal of developing the technology needed to build a permanent human presence.
This series of launches is part of an ongoing campaign to enhance lunar exploration, facilitated in part by NASA’s Commercial Lunar Spacecraft Service (CLPS) program. This includes funding spacecraft from private companies that carry a combination of NASA’s own science instruments and payloads from other customers.
