A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket carrying the company’s Dragon spacecraft lifted off from Pad 39A at Launch Complex 39A at Kennedy Space Center in Florida on Thursday, November 9th. The Dragon is on a resupply mission to the ISS, carrying scientific experiments, crew supplies, and various food items.
The Falcon 9 rocket lifted off from Launch Complex 39A at 8:28 p.m. EST on Thursday, November 9th. The Dragon’s journey to the ISS began on behalf of NASA as part of SpaceX’s 29th resupply service mission.
Dragon successfully arrived in orbit and the solar array has been deployed. The spacecraft is expected to arrive at the space station on Saturday, November 11th. Once there, Dragon will autonomously dock with the space station.
This mission is part of NASA’s ILLUMA-T and AWE projects, and will also deliver food items to the space station’s crew. After approximately a month in orbit, the spacecraft will return to Earth with research and return cargo.
