But if modern cars were programmed to approach intersections smoothly, they could significantly reduce their annual emissions.
According to an AI-based model, if all gasoline and diesel vehicles in the United States adopted certain eco-driving practices on a consistent basis, the country could reduce its annual carbon dioxide emissions by 62 to 123 million tonnes.
