The mouse, both genetic parents, survived for the first time until their adults. However, to achieve this, it was especially necessary for people to have a wide range of genetic modifications that were never attempted.
These are not the first mammals with the same sex parents. The mouse with two mothers was first created in 2004 and seemed to be alive longer than usual, although it was abnormally small. However, it turned out that creating a mouse with the two father was more difficult.
