After months of enthusiastic research, scientists are getting closer to understanding why the planet has been so hot since 2023.
That year, the global average sea surface temperature reached record highs, destroying the previous figure at around 0.25°C. It was a record-breaking level up to 2024, driving the overall global temperature to a new, recorded high.
