When I was a teenager, I joined my school's urban astronomy club. It wasn’t popular. Most nights, it was just me and my physics teacher standing on a Chicago street corner, inviting passersby to look through the telescope. In retrospect, it’s strange that my parents agreed to this, but it was one of the first things that really fostered my love of space.
