GPS signal disruptions that began near battlefields in Europe and the Middle East are now affecting the world's busiest maritime airspace. More than 1,700 transatlantic flights cross the North Atlantic between Europe and North America every day. In recent months, a small but growing number of flights have lost reliable GPS service over Europe and the Middle East and were not able to restore it before crossing the ocean.
