Scottish filmmaker Duncan Cowles has always been bad at talking about his emotions. He was born into a family of stoic, “silent men” who could only express their love through birthday cards. In his mid-20s, keeping everything to himself began to feel more personal for Cowles, due to reports of mental health crises among men.
