Our perception of reality is limited due to our evolution on the African plains 3 million years ago. Our senses, designed for survival, only reveal a small part of the world to us, leading to common misconceptions about the nature of reality.
Here are a few examples of things that may seem true but are not:
1. The Earth is flat
While the Earth may appear flat, there is ample evidence to support the fact that it is a spherical shape. Observations such as ships disappearing below the horizon and the curved shadow cast by the Earth on the moon during a lunar eclipse serve as tangible proof.
Further evidence came from early circumnavigations and the famous photograph of Earth from space. These observations confirm that the Earth is indeed a sphere.
Calculating the Earth’s size and shape has been a historical challenge, but through various means, we have determined the Earth is spherical, a fact proven by ancient astronomers like Eratosthenes.
2. The stars revolve around the Earth
