A stunning geomagnetic storm created an incredible display of lights across the United States on Thursday evening, illuminating the sky all the way down to San Antonio with vibrant shades of magenta and green.
The northern lights, also known as aurora borealis, are typically more visible in the polar regions of the Earth, but recent solar activity has allowed these captivating displays to be seen with the naked eye in many southern states.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration reported that the storm reached a level 4 out of 5 on the severity scale, leading to widespread illumination across the night sky, particularly in Europe.
