For instance, the Moon affects the tilt of the Earth’s axis and the speed at which the Earth’s axis wobbles (precession).
If the Moon were absent, the variations would be more pronounced and changes would occur more rapidly, resulting in larger differences in seasons over evolutionary timescales and greater climate variations with latitude.
Therefore, without the Moon, life on Earth would have evolved in a significantly different manner, or perhaps may not have existed at all.
While having a moon may increase the likelihood, diversity, and sustainability of life on a planet, it is not necessary for life to develop and evolve.
