Apple is addressing a problem where some users are reporting that their iPhone alarms are not going off or are too quiet.
The company has acknowledged the issue and has received complaints from TikTok users about alarms not going off.
One TikTok user mentioned, “This is probably the third or fourth day in a row that my alarm clock hasn’t gone off.” Another user reported, “For the past week or so, I’ve noticed that my alarm doesn’t wake me up when it goes off.” Users have expressed difficulties in managing their time due to this issue.
Apple is working on a resolution for the problem, but it’s unclear how many people are affected or which devices are impacted.
In a video that has gained approximately 10 million views, another TikTok user mentioned that the iPhone 15’s alarm was sounding at the “lowest volume” and speculated that the issue could be related to the “Remind Me” feature. The user questioned Apple’s intentions, asking, “Is Apple trying to fire people?”
Apple did not comment on whether the “Remind Me” feature was causing the alarm problem. Initially reported on NBC’s Today show, the Alert feature lowers the volume of the alarm when the user is looking at the device, dimming the display until the user stops looking.
Apple has provided an online advice page regarding alarms, advising users to control the alarm volume through the “Sounds and Haptics” feature in Settings. The page also recommends ensuring that the alarm sound is not set to “none,” as the “Silent Mode” and “Do Not Disturb” options do not affect the alarm sound.
