Wi-Fi hi-fi manufacturer Sonos has finally introduced its highly anticipated Bluetooth noise-canceling headphones, designed to provide the ultimate private cinema sound experience at home or on the go.
The Ace headphones may look like a regular pair, sleek and discreet, but they come with some unique features. By simply pressing a button, you can connect to your compatible Sonos soundbar via Wi-Fi and enjoy a complete movie theater sound without disturbing others in your household.
Using the head-tracking sensors in the headphones, the soundbar can replicate the acoustics of the room you’re in, making it seem like you’re not wearing headphones at all.
Unlike competitors such as Apple, the audio sharing feature works with shows, movies, game consoles, and any other content fed into the soundbar from your TV.
On the go, Ace competes with traditional headphones from top brands like Bose, Sony, and Apple, featuring eight microphones for effective noise cancellation and beamforming for clear voice calls. Custom 40mm drivers have been fine-tuned with input from more than 50 music producers for precise, high-fidelity audio.
Giles Martin, Grammy Award winner and Head of Sound Experience at Sonos, expressed, “Headphones need to provide an enjoyable listening experience without being too overpowering. We aim for accuracy and transparency, so we’ve crafted the sound of Ace to stay true to the original source material. This has been a labor of love for us.”
Ace supports standard Bluetooth 5.4 for connectivity with Android, iPhone, tablets, and other devices. It also allows for lossless audio playback via Bluetooth. Enjoy Dolby Atmos spatial audio on the go from compatible devices and services on your certified Android device or via USB-C.
Access advanced sound customization and equalizer features through the new Sonos app for Android and iOS. The headphones offer up to 30 hours of use with noise cancellation between charges via USB-C.
These luxurious over-ear headphones are environmentally friendly, made from recycled plastic, and feature replaceable ear cushions and a service-replaceable battery.
Priced at £449 (€499/$449/AU$699), the Ace headphones will be available in black or white colors starting June 5th.
