Kindle has introduced the Kindle Click, its first Bluetooth page-turning remote, giving readers a way to control compatible e-readers without touching the screen or attaching a third-party accessory. Announced for release in early October and now available to buy, the Click launched alongside the new Kindle Paperwhite and Kindle Colorsoft and works with Kindle models from 2024 onward.
A dedicated remote for Kindle
Page-turning remotes have recently become an option for e-book readers. Kobo launched one last year, but Kindle had not offered a first-party remote until the Kindle Click.
The Click addresses several drawbacks of third-party accessories. Some of those devices cover part of the Kindle’s screen and require tapping to turn pages, while others leave readers holding a separate remote and monitoring the battery life of two devices.
The Click is compatible with Kindle models starting in 2024. To pair it, open the Kindle’s settings, select Wi-Fi & Bluetooth, then choose Bluetooth devices. The writer tested it with both a 2024 Kindle and a 2026 Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition; both detected the Click and began working with it almost instantly.
The remote has two buttons for moving backward and forward through a book. It can also be used to move around the displayed page, although it does not select a book; in the library or on the home page, it simply moves the selection. Two buttons on the right side adjust screen brightness.
A wrist strap is included. Used with a Kindle stand, the Click allows readers to prop up the e-reader and turn pages without lifting a finger.
Charging options for Kindle
New Kindles include a USB-C cable but do not include a wall charging block, so buyers need to provide their own adapter. Anyone whose existing chargers still use older USB connectors may need to purchase a USB-C-compatible block.

The Anker Nano 45W with USB-C cable is described as a wall charger suitable for Android phones and iPhones as well as Kindles. It is listed through Amazon at $35, with a reduced price of $26.

Stamish USB-C charger block
The Stamish USB-C charger block is sold through Amazon as a two-pack for $10. The writer says a collection of these blocks has remained reliable after a year and a half of use with smartphones and e-readers.
