A small asteroid hurtled towards Earth on Tuesday night before burning up over Russia's far northeast, creating a natural light show for residents of the Earth's remote areas, officials said.
The flying space rock, less than 70 centimeters (27.5 inches) wide, was “discovered on a collision course” with Earth. european space agency said earlier Tuesday, predicting the impact would be “harmless.”
