A team of scientists, conservationists, and military veterans will soon embark on a world-first conservation effort to collect semen from wild sharks.
From December 7th to 14th, approximately 15 experts will attempt to collect semen from Indo-Pacific leopard sharks (Stegostoma tigrinum) Males gather off the coast of North Stradbroke Island near Brisbane, Australia. They hope to use the semen to artificially inseminate female leopard sharks in aquariums across Australia and in Singapore.
