A rare earth-eared lizard has been rediscovered by scientists after a demining team spotted the elusive animal in Somaliland.
a subspecies of the Somali sharp-nosed worm lizard (Ancylocranium Somalicum Parkari) was first reported by scientists in 1931 in what is now Somaliland, an unrecognized state independent from the rest of Somalia. There were no official sightings of the lizard for the next 90 years.
