This week, we’re looking for two important constellations that are prominent in skies around the world during February. Both are named after characters from Greek mythology, the hero Perseus and the charioteer Auriga. In the northern hemisphere he is visible for most of the evening, but in the southern hemisphere he is only visible for an hour or two after sunset, so you need to look north.
Perseus (pictured above) is one of the largest constellations in the night sky. Its namesake is said to have saved Andromeda from being sacrificed by the sea monster Cetus.
