A strange zombie-like galaxy has been discovered in the distant universe: the immortal galaxy stopped forming stars for 20 million years before reviving with a burst of activity, and it may help unlock cosmic mysteries about the oldest galaxies.
“We have seen galaxies that undergo bursts of star formation and galaxies that are no longer forming stars, but this is the first time we have observed a galaxy that has stopped forming stars and then undergoes this rejuvenation process,” … said.
