Mosquito bites can transmit deadly diseases

A rare mosquito-borne virus has killed five people in the United States this year. The latest death, announced on August 27, occurred in New Hampshire, marking the state's first case of the virus since 2014. Massachusetts, New Jersey, Vermont, and Wisconsin have also reported cases. The situation is so serious that some towns are closing parks after dusk (the time when mosquitoes bite) and limiting outdoor activities and public events.
