A distant planet once touted as a potential place to discover extraterrestrial life is actually most likely inhospitable, according to astronomers who have discovered that it probably has no solid surface. It is said to be expensive.
In 2015, astronomers discovered a planet called K2-18b 110 light-years away, and subsequent analysis estimated it to be a super-Earth, or mini-Neptune, about eight times the mass of Earth.
