Due to poor access to health care and lack of medical knowledge, endometriosis can take years or even decades to be diagnosed.
This condition occurs when tissue similar to the endometrium grows in other places, such as the ovaries and fallopian tubes, and can cause pain and difficulty conceiving. The cause of endometriosis is unknown, but it is thought to be related to genetics and immune system problems.
