The weight loss and diabetes drug semaglutide may also help people reduce their alcohol intake.
The study of about 700,000 people taking the drug, sold under the brand names Wegobee and Ozempic, adds to a growing body of evidence suggesting it may be widely used by people with a range of addictions.
