Tiny black holes smaller than a proton may have been scattered throughout the universe

The universe may have once been dotted with tiny black holes that possessed strange properties known as color charges. If they existed, these strange objects would have formed shortly after the Big Bang and evaporated quickly, potentially upsetting the balance of elements formed in the early universe.

The extremely small black holes that formed at the beginning of the universe are known as primordial black holes.
