We may be one step closer to achieving unhackable quantum Wi-Fi, thanks to a chip that can establish wireless communications between a wide range of quantum devices.
Quantum communication systems have a distinct advantage over the wireless and fiber optic based networks in use today in that they are extremely difficult to hack. This is because they use the quantum state of objects, such as particles of light, to encode and transmit information. Quantum states allow for more complex encryption and any tampering can be easily detected.
