Dyson vacuum cleaners are frequently discounted, but the strongest offers often arrive around major shopping events such as Black Friday. With Black Friday only a few weeks away, several Dyson models are already on sale. WIRED’s resident vacuum tester, who has tried every modern Dyson vacuum from the newest high-powered models to the long-running favorite V15 Detect, highlights the deals currently available and explains which ones may be worth considering.

The best Dyson robot vacuum deal right now
The Dyson Spot+Scrub Ai, launched earlier this year, has already been surpassed as Dyson’s flagship robot vacuum. Even so, the tester prefers it to the newer Dyson R3 Nurovi Spot+Scrub UV, which is currently under evaluation. The Spot+Scrub Ai is usually discounted, and the newer model did not seem like a better investment.
Dyson says the Spot+Scrub Ai uses artificial intelligence to identify areas of the floor that need scrubbing, although it was not clear whether that feature actually worked. Overall, the robot did a good job, particularly as Dyson’s first attempt at combining robot vacuuming and mopping. Discounts around this price are common, but the current $400 reduction is somewhat better than the offers seen during Prime Day.
Also on sale: The Dyson R1 Nurovi Dry is available for $450, down from $550. It is one of three new robot vacuums Dyson announced this fall. The tester has not tried it, so its value remains unclear.
The tester is currently evaluating the Dyson R3 Nurovi, priced at $1,200, but has not been impressed by its vacuuming performance. Rice and popcorn have been left behind on both rugs and hard floors, making it difficult to expect the less expensive R1 to perform better.

Dyson V16 Piston Animal
The Dyson V16 Piston Animal is Dyson’s most powerful stick vacuum, producing 315 air watts. It also includes substantial design improvements and can be paired with a Submarine 2.0 mop head.
The tester liked the V16 Piston Animal’s design upgrades and power, although its high price may make it difficult to justify. Dyson has been offering discounts regularly, with several configurations available:
- $180 off the basic vacuum
- $200 off the model bundled with the Submarine head
- $200 off the version with the charging Floor Dok
The tester particularly likes the Submarine head. The Floor Dok has not yet been tested, but it is the accessory the tester most wants: it can fully charge the cordless vacuum while also providing a dedicated place to store it.
