Discord Launches New Ads Manager Tool for Businesses
Discord has recently introduced a new tool called Discord Ads Manager, designed to help businesses of all sizes advertise on its platform more effectively. This tool allows businesses to manage their ad campaigns in one convenient location, making it easier to create target-based bidding campaigns and monitor performance.
With the launch of Ads Manager, Discord aims to expand its advertising options to smaller studios and marketers, providing self-service access that was previously only available through direct sales relationships. This move opens up advertising opportunities on Discord to a wider range of businesses, regardless of their budget.
While Ads Manager is currently available to some advertisers, self-service access is expected to roll out in early 2027. In addition to this new tool, Discord is also enhancing its Video Quest ad format, now known as Video Quests Reserve. This premium, reservation-based product offers advertisers a scalable way to drive outcomes like impressions and clicks during high-impact moments for their brands. Discord will soon introduce additional tracking goals for advertisers to measure campaign success.
The Evolution of Discord’s Advertising Business
Launched in 2015, Discord remained ad-free until 2024 when the company made its foray into advertising. Speculation about Discord’s advertising strategy was fueled by a confidential IPO filing in January, as reported by Bloomberg. The move to integrate advertising is seen as a way for Discord to diversify its revenue streams beyond premium subscriptions and game sales.
