Media reports suggest that Donald Trump has hinted at the possibility of appointing tech billionaire Elon Musk as an adviser if he returns to the White House next year, as reported by The Wall Street Journal.
Despite their previously tense relationship, Trump and Musk have been in frequent phone conversations since March, with Trump seeking big donors and Musk looking for a platform for his policy ideas, according to sources cited by The Washington Post.
The two met at the home of billionaire Nelson Peltz in March to discuss various policy issues, including Musk’s support for immigration.
Musk has stated his intention not to donate to either presidential campaign and plans to host a rally discouraging wealthy allies from supporting Joe Biden.
Their relationship has evolved from past insults, with Musk once again engaging with Trump and seeking his active participation on his platform X, as per The Wall Street Journal.
Despite previous disagreements, Musk, the owner of Tesla and SpaceX, has benefited from federal policies and contracts, while Trump continues to oppose the expansion of electric vehicle production.
Peltz, acting as the intermediary between Trump and Musk, mentioned a joint project aimed at ensuring fair vote counting, although specifics remain undisclosed.
