The iPhone 16 Plus from Apple offers two key upgrades over the standard iPhone model. It boasts a larger screen and an extended battery life for improved user experience.
The new plus-sized model maintains the same specifications, camera features, and additional buttons as the standard iPhone 16. This provides users with a larger screen Apple device without the high cost of the premium 16 Pro Max model which has a 6.9-inch display, offering a comprehensive mobile phone experience.
Starting at £899 (€1,099 / $899 / AU$1,599), the 16 Plus falls between the £799 iPhone 16 and the £999 iPhone 16 Pro models in terms of pricing.
With a bright and crisp 6.7-inch display, the 16 Plus retains the same screen size as its predecessor but operates at a slower 60Hz refresh rate. While this may affect scrolling smoothness compared to Apple’s Pro iPhones and competitors, it remains suitable for watching movies and TV shows during your daily commute.
Constructed with aluminum and glass, the 16 Plus features a rear camera design reminiscent of the iPhone 12. Despite its lightweight design at 199g, the Plus model still requires two-handed operation most of the time. Consider using a phone case or grip for added convenience.

Featuring two new buttons in line with other 16-series iPhones, the action button serves as a replacement for the mute switch, providing quick access to apps, actions, torch functionality, and focus and mute modes. Similarly, the camera control button enables immediate camera access and adjustments like zoom and depth settings with one-handed operation.
While the iOS 18 pre-installed offers a seamless experience, advanced AI features are yet to be incorporated by Apple. The anticipated iOS18.1 update is scheduled for later release in different regions.
