Samsung’s popular foldable-screen Z Flip smartphone will be making a comeback in 2024 with upgraded features such as a faster chip, significantly longer battery life, and enhanced AI capabilities.
The Galaxy Z Flip 6, the smaller of Samsung’s two new foldable phones this year, was launched alongside the book-style Z Fold 6. It retains a familiar design with flat sides and a slab appearance similar to the Galaxy S24+, but can fold in half to transform into a compact clamshell design.
Several enhancements have been made to the new Flip, although the price has increased to £1,049 (€1,199 / $1,099 / AU$1,799), making it on par with the S24+ at launch and pricier than its foldable phone competitors.
The phone now sports a revamped appearance with flatter sides and a matte aluminum finish for a sleeker, more integrated look. The 3.4-inch outer cover screen remains unchanged and offers useful information and limited app functionality. The 6.7-inch inner display is improved, providing a smoother, sharper, and brighter viewing experience compared to its predecessor.
