pictureRon Musk has been attempting to entice Donald Trump back to Twitter since acquiring the platform (previously known as Twitter) in 2022. Trump, up until now, has been satisfied using his own social network, Truth Social, to keep his supporters informed even after his permanent ban from Twitter/Twitter was lifted.
As the US election drew near and Musk’s backing of Trump heightened, Trump made a comeback, posting consecutively on X throughout Monday, culminating in a three-hour live conversation with Musk.
The interview got off to a rocky start with a 45-minute delay and ongoing technical issues.
Musk attributed the outage to distributed denial-of-service attacks, while Trump blamed it on excessive eavesdropping attempts—a theory believed by some.
Even post-event, the live conversation they had at X remained the most talked-about content.
While the discussions were often disjointed, transcribing them gave insight into their perspectives.
Many of Musk’s critics left X post his right-wing shift, but not all who stayed were in full support.
On other platforms, the dialogue was more critical, especially on the open-source social network Bluesky where users ridiculed the technical glitches.
Musk’s conversations with Republican candidates facing technical issues were not new, prompting comments and reminders from users.
Musk made another offer, this time to Kamala Harris, but it remains to be seen if she will accept.
