The annual report announced by the Department of Defense revealed 21 intriguing incidents when investigating UFO sightings, officially known as Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAPs).
Between May 2023 and June 2024, a total of 757 new UAP reports were received and investigated by the Defense Department’s All Area Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO), according to a report from the Department of Defense and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence.
Out of these reports, 485 UAP incidents occurred within the reporting period, while an additional 272 incidents took place between 2021 and 2022 but were not included in previous annual UAP reports. As of October 24, 2024, AARO has received a total of 1,652 UAP reports.
During the reporting period, 49 cases were resolved as mundane objects like balloons, birds, and unmanned aircraft systems. Another 243 cases were similarly resolved to be of everyday purpose, with 444 cases lacking sufficient data for analysis and placed in an active archive for future reexamination.
Despite this, the report highlighted 21 cases that required further analysis due to their anomalous characteristics and behavior.
However, the report emphasized that there is currently no evidence to suggest the involvement of extraterrestrial life in these sightings.
According to John Kosloski, Director of the All Domain Anomaly Resolution Office, at a media briefing on Thursday, “I have an interesting case study that I thought about as someone with a background in physics and engineering, and experience in the intelligence community. I don’t understand it, and I don’t know anyone who can understand it other than me.”
