Introducing Shanidar Z, one of the most important Neanderthal discoveries of this generation. Her remains, thought to date back 75,000 years, were completely unearthed five years ago during a re-excavation of the legendary Shanidar Cave in Iraq's Kurdistan region.
She appears to have been intentionally buried along with nine other Neanderthal men, women, and children whose skeletons were discovered after the 1950s, forever changing our society.
