But as the popularity of the drug, which has transformed from diabetes treatment to weight loss drug to cure-all, continues to grow… Much of the media discourse is critical.
The drug (generic name semaglutide, brand name Wegovy) works by mimicking a gut hormone called GLP-1, and after many failed attempts, it has become the first safe and effective weight-loss drug.
