Our attempts to tackle extreme temperatures are inadvertently exacerbating the problem

When temperatures get too extreme, we rush to adjust our heating and cooling systems to stay comfortable. As severe weather becomes more frequent due to climate change, we also tweak our thermostats more, which in turn causes daily carbon emissions to spike, leading to more climate change. If we can’t break this vicious cycle, the problem will only get worse.
